Waqf Amendment Bill: MMU reschedules meeting due to HM Amit Shah’s J&K visit | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 05 (KNO): The Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) has rescheduled its meeting due to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit and said that the meeting will now be held on Wednesday (April 9). A statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads that the meeting of Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), which was scheduled to be held on Monday , April 7, 2025 at Mirwaiz Manzil, Nigeen, to deliberate on the Waqf Amendment Bill, has been postponed to Wednesday , April 9, 2025. “The decision to reschedule the meeting was taken in view of the visit of the Union Home Minister to Kashmir on the same day, due to which there is a possibility that the authorities may not permit the meeting to take place,” the statement reads. It added that all members of the MMU are requested to kindly ensure their presence and participate in the important meeting—(KNO)
